Surgical Sutures Solution History
2003 – 2006, Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., team went through a series of rigorous professional training and education in Surgical Sutures offered by Aesculap AG., (…a B.Braun company).
The focus of this professional training in surgical sutures included: deep product knowledge in B.Braun’s complete suture portfolio, sutures usage in relation to surgical indications/tissues, learning suturing and knotting techniques.
The objective of this 3 years training and education were to equip Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., team to provide the right services in addition to the sutures portfolio offerings into the market, with the aim of boosting surgical outcome.
The 2003 – 2006 major activities were the implementation of B.Braun Group promise – “ Sharing Expertise”. With this first phase of our collaboration, since 2006, Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., has been delivering a complete surgical suture portfolio to hospitals in tandem with services.
This training and education in surgical sutures has been a continuous activity. The most recent of these trainings organized by Aesculap Academy in Dubai titled “Suture Training Workshop” took place from February 6th to 9th, 2023.
This workshop was attended by participants from 11 countries. Cameroon was represented by Kisthen Njapteh Kawep from Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd.

Presbyterian General Hospital Kumba (PGHK) acquires Aesculap Acculan 3Ti Power System & Surgical Instrument.
Presbyterian General Hospital Kumba (PGHK) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., to improve on the technical platform in Trauma Care and collaborate in the development of this speciality as purpose.

Pre-execution activities of this agreement involved our several visits to PGH Kumba focusing on their specific needs and pains plus attending surgery sessions for a deep insight. This led to the atomization of the project hence, a decision to acquire first, Trauma Surgical Instruments and a Power System.
Together with the surgeon, theatre nurses and administration we agreed on Aesculap Acculan 3Ti Power System and Trauma Surgical Instruments. This equipment arrived in our head office in Douala on October 02nd, 2018. On November (15th – 16th), 2018 a training for the PGH Kumba surgical team (surgeons & nurses) took place at Gima-Bambot Healthcare Ltd., head office for an efficient use of the equipment including care and maintenance. This was a crucial part of the entire process as it boosted trust and confidence in end-users with respect to the equipment and guaranteed ownership.
